War Machines: Putin vs Obama
President Obama is in the middle of a stark reduction of our American Military budget. Troops are coming home (which is a good thing, mind you), Secretary Panetta seems silent on the cut-backs. As a former Marine, I expected more from him.
We will have less armament, less hardware, and I fear, more bull$#%^ from the Pentagon as we wheedle down the fighting force. America has a bad habit, after serious armed conflict around the world, of doing that - cutting back the Army, Navy, Air Force, etc. Then, ....something happens, and the bitching starts all over again - "why weren't we ready for all this?"
Sound familiar?
It was announced today that President (?) Putin of Russia will double, triple, whatever the output of his warplanes by 2020, ditto ships, tanks and such by the beginning of that year.
Let's be clear: out boy in the White House is cutting back (how man BILLIONS?) Putin is doubling his output of military hardware in the next 8 years. This is the same Obama that whispers in an open mike to Putin's lackey that " you'll have to tell Vladamir to give me MORE TIME TIL AFTER THE ELECTIONS, blah blah."
As an American with First Amendment Rights, I pose the question: What the hell is THIS all about?
