Siroka County Sheriff Walt Longmire for Pima County Arizona Sherifff
County Sheriff Walt Longmire is on vacation in Siroka County and the fall election down in southern Arizona will soon be held. The antique Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has served for nearly half century, and come to adopt the political posturing of the town's only newspaper the Arizona Daily Star, long reviled by most of the population as politically left of your average socialist university professor.
Other candidates barging into what they perceive as a wide open hole in the election favor the slogan, protection, not politics.
Siroka County's Longmire has obviously touted a stronger brand of law n' order with the more direct approach a'la Sheriff Longmire's a questions, answers, arrests and convictions. And, he seems to do it with a minimum of staff, albeit fighting with inside tension amongst the staff.
Wyoming's landscapes tend to be wide, flat and forever, and of little challenge to the Sheriff and his crew, so one might surmise the same could be true here in Pima County with a much larger staff, vehicles, and support equipment.
Although we would advice Sheriff Longmire to wear a cell phone.
