Media Bias, Bernard Goldberg, Arizona Daily Star, Handguns
Years ago, Mr. Goldberg wrote the tome on media bias, the roof fell in on him from most of the mainstream media, the rest is history. When Obama addressed his first press conference, he let the cat out of the preverbial bag by joking,
" well, most of you voted for me, anyway," or, words close to that.
Close enough. Goldberg was right. Dan Rather on the Bush, Gore election, " well, there is still hope...(he lost it election night, he was rooting for Gore out loud). Trouble is he and most of the political left forgot about the constitution, a little thing called the Electoral College. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it does. Bush won. Now, go to sleep. Without it, Just the big cities sway all elections. Don't think so, wait and see.
As the lawyers say, comes now the Arizona Daily Star and their hysterial combardment of the citizens of Tucson on GUNS,~~ GUNS,~~ GUNS.
Since the Giffords affair, the Star has non-stop ran a majority of hysterical letters from what seems to be a steady stream of citizenry screaming for wild-eyed gun control. Illegical, non-sensical, (but it feels, oh-so-good) take-em-away gun control. Coupled with self-confessed hippie-like editorials and content articles leaning heavily that way, we are treated to content reading that says little else.
The newpaper is no longer worth reading.
I however have done my own research. I poll police and deputy sheriffs on the street with one question: since the open gun law has taken effect August 29, 2010, has their been any increase in gun problems that you have detected?
Universally, my feedback from the cops is, NO. Every police person I have asked has said zero, nada, zip. Not a problem. In one case, one sheriff's deputy said in her opinion, it's actually been a little quieter.
So much for the hysteria whipped up by the newspaper.
