Connecticut.......Gun Control???
When you think of the lunatic that hit the elementary school a couple of days ago and killed the children and school staff, even the mentally defective must moan over the loss. Even THEY know it gives them a bad name.
The police were still clearing the building when the media crazies were already beating up vague clouds for 'gun control,' and smoking rhetoric of " it's time we do something about GUNS." (HERE we drop our voices and emphasize guns in low dulcet tones as if Darth Vader walked into the room.
My point, when the usual hysterics beat the drums, the call to arms, it is always much like the African natives circling the dense jungle on a lion hunt: hundreds out forming a half circle around a clump of dark bend of trees, vicariously beating drums, scaring the hell out of a lion, frightening him out of the jungle into the Serengeti so the tribesmen can kill him.
Alas, we are a thinking, brooding society, hopefully far above that, with practical, well thought out schema to complicated problems: say, the Constitution, for instance. I read that a well intentioned by some what hysterical female Rabbi somewhere was drumming up support to storm the front gates of the National Rifle Association in Washington DC and stay there, until " it collapsed."
Nah. Not a well thought out plan. Let me explain. If the Tucson shooter could NEVER get a gun, he might have used a bomb, he being so squirrely as to have done it, ergo killing ALL 220 in the supermarket parking lot including our Congresswoman.
The Aurora shooter was out of his tree as evidenced by his photo, hair, demeanor, blood tests, and non-sensical answers, to disqualify himself from breathing fresh air for the remainder of his life. Pointing out that Colorado's laws against ME carrying a gun prevented me from popping him off from the third row. I follow the law, bird brain did not.
Our latest lunatic in Connecticut has the same wild and wonderful photograph as the other alleged killers, did you see it? Squirrel City. That boy checked out on the last shuttle leaving earth some time ago and should have been committed, yeah, I know, slipped through the cracks - AGAIN. I tire of that as much as you. Guns were bought legally by Mom, and used by her. Our fly-boy took 'em, did the deed and blew his own head off, after he iced all those children. Why didn't somebody know, call the cops, intercede, or stop him. A neighbor, when asked by the police said, " It had to be Adam." So, no secret, he was the household time -bomb.
My point? 300 Million guns in our country, more than enough for one for everyone, and then some. WHAT ARE YOU SUGGESTING, GUN CONTROL NUTS? COLLECTING THEM?
THAT IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.
That program will be as successful as Prohibition, the War on Drug and Crushing the Mafia. We can do somethings, but as far as collecting guns, disabuse yourself of that notion. Anybody going door to door collecting guns is NOT going to happen. People who want to CONTROL GUNS are going to have to SPELL IT OUT. What, where, how many, who controls, what exactly do you mean, and what is the effect?? NO MORE GENERALITES. Fool me once, shame on you.
