Presidential Politics

With the inauguration of Obama, after all the hope and change promised and damn little of it delivered, I admit, the rebel that I am, I had hoped he would deliver.
    Ok, he didn't.
Now, tonight, watching the Repubs duking it out, it is hard for me to trust anyone saying anything to us, vox populi, about what they " will do, day one " after being inaugurated.
I just don't trust anyone anymore, either side of the fence. Sure, we have to vote, we will have to chose sides. In my heart, my gut tells me Obama has had one shot, and next year he will fade into oblivion, replaced by someone else.
He is down for the count, but who will replace him and how much worse will it get.
Reagan stepped in and it got a lot worse for a couple of years, then we took off. The transfer from guns to butter was a painful one, but Americans hung in there and our economy finally made it. Ronaldus Maximus took his place among the Emperors in the Pantheon of American Presidents.
Where do we go from here? Fourteen months to go and a dark horse has yet to appear.
