I WAS RIGHT....I HATED THAT, BUT.....I WAS RIGHT

I met G Gordon Liddy once in Tucson and after a long chat, adjudged him an honest, very angry Patriot. He's not a mealy mouthed God Like on high semi Profit like we see out of Washington these days. He's a highly intelligent guy with a super-fast computer-like brain. If I got into trouble, I'd want him beside me. I believe he is dedicated, believe what he says, and is in trouble with the "higher ups" and walks with the angels.
I also met and lunched with Alexandar Haig, the erudite General that worked for Reagan. He was so complicated (as the joke goes) when he talked, you needed a dictionary when you listened. He spoke in stone tablets. Hollywood portrayed him as a maniacal nut case. As usual, everything coming out of Tinsel-land is shaded far LEFT, I found him to be to be one of our finest Command Generals.

He was worried about the Russians when nobody else was. As of today, we all are, or should be. Now that President Sleepy-head is drummed out of office, our attention is being turned to that very fact - he was right.
The same with Ollie North. At a lecture series at one of the  area Universities, I got a chance to speak with him at length about his term as a spy and military officer in the Marines. He made no bones about the Russian threat. The Russkies were up to their arms in upsetting the balance in power to their favor, and eventually their  favor.
Later that year, I would take other meetings with luminaries as moments of luck in my life struck my schedule at random. I've been very lucky at that and am so grateful.
Archibald Cox, Nixon's Attorney General who was fired over the Watergate tapes controversy was equally outspoken on affairs of the day. Tall, loud and deaf, he was unafraid of voicing opinions on Nixon, corruption and the oddities of those that surrounded him during the political administration of his day, either good, bad, or foreign.
Richard Kleindeinst, his replacement, not so much. I bumped into him at lunch here in Tucson, then at the golf course shooting driving range. He was bugged so much that he wrote a book about his political adventures in Washington so people would stop nagging him in public. In my opinion, he and the truth were not on speaking terms.
And now, the " late " Mario Rubio of the Senate Committee interviewing Rex Tellerson for Secretary of State. There was a reason Mr. Trump DID NOT pick him for a cabinet position. I didn't know what it was - until today. Rubio's cross examination of Mr Tillerson was crass, rude, and self destructive to Mr. Trump's administration. In my opinion. his sour grapes behavior today in the Senate Committee should seal his political future to no more than what he now has. Trump was right about him. Bad choice for president.
