LAWYER JOKES....Why I no longer tell ANY
The Wall Street Journal recently printed a story saying that "there were only three real lawyer jokes,....all the rest were actually true..." Joke, joke.
Know ye all by these presents that I no longer tell lawyer jokes. Two attorneys in Denver, Colorado saved my sanity and my life by showing compassion to me during two of the worst crises of my life.
I will forever be indebted to Ronald Gregson of Gregson & Pixler, PC on Sherman Street in Denver during one of the worst times of my life. He and my doctor worked hand in glove while my employer tried to undermine my job AS my wife died in a nearby hospital. My job and my salary were saved because of him.
Littleton, Colorado attorney Charles W. Hemphill literally loses sleep over ideas.
My hope is that he is still alive, enjoying his life with family and friends, enjoying a healthy legal practice. He literally threw himself at the legal system on our behalf, against seasoned Denver attorneys, an entire staff, a floor of high powered, big time lawyers who figuratively spit on him, and us, yet he fought like a tiger against a judge so incompetent who was later lifted out of his chair for judicial incompetence.
It's been most of 20 years, and fifteen since my wife passed away, yet, I still send him greeting cards. I know my late wife would still approve.
There is life, hope, compassion and real caring in the legal profession, and I refuse to dishonor lawyers en masse anymore. I hope, I pray and I look for it in every one of them at each turn in the road.
