THE REHABILITATION OF JANE FONDA
Last night CBS, the verdent font of accurate information (see Dan Rather, "what is the frequency, Kenneth?"), aired a wonder-ful edition of the extended adventurers of Jane.
" I am of Victim: " (well God, it DID SEEM LIKE IT!!)
Lesseed now, She was Bulemmiicc, camera pans to tiny muscles in her leg. Of course, they didn't mention the 54 operations she had.
She says, " I am a fan of plastic surgery." The CBS "guy" threw softball, pitter-pat questions at her during her segment. (a fan ...54 surgeries? that's like going to Pearl Harbor and saying, " THERE'S BEEN SOME damage here.)
Then our girl comments, delicately, Oh, regrets? Yeah, I sure wish I hadn't gotten on that silly North VietNames anti- aircraft gun (pointed at OUR fighters attacking North Vietnamese targets at the time - she FAILED TO MENTION THAT PART IN HER 'SPECIAL.')
Interestingly enough, that 3 minute comment was her only OOPS in her life and she sails on into her victimhood of bulimia and her father Henry Fonda not "loving her enough. "
Tough life, ehh?
She mentions NOTHING about any of her visits to the HANOI HILTON, passing secret notes our captive officers slipped her that she turns right around and hands over to the North Vietnamese.
As the Prebyterian Minister John Fife used to say, ' NO WORD ON THAT SCORE.' i spoke to a US Army vet who was captive in the HIlton when she was there, and saw it. Three of the four guys were killed.
No apologies for that, I'm told. Onward with her good life, Jane and Ted eating Bison steaks in his Buffalo restaurant in Denver some years gback, never breaking a sweat. I know, I saw them, I was there.
Oh, that vet I spoke about? He said he's sick of watching her lie through he teeth on TV, " Oh, I was always FOR THE TROOPS, " she says.
The CBS interviewer, " you had a movie, Monster in Law, and it bombed?" Yeah, she replied, not enough umph.
GEE, I wonder why? Jane has a TV series this fall. LET'S ALL GET BEHIND IT AND SHOW HER THE SAME AMERICAN WELCOME WE GIVE TO PEOPLE WHO " STAND BEHIND OUR G.I.S.
