Will Joe Paterno please SHUT UP ! !

About two days ago, I'm rushing to catch up on my reading the Arizona Daily Star, my local excuse for a newspaper and I catch another article on the Penn State homosexual child abuse scandal, and Mr. Paterno is again quoted speaking publicly about being unable to handle or unfit or some such language to engage in this serious an affair as Sandusky's naked dalliance with young boys in the school's showers.
Further, the article says that he didn't have a clue that Big Jerry was a child molester, or some such language,...I'm summarizing his intent here.
Paterno wasn't equipped??? to holler FIRE! in a burning theatre? Is that what we are to believe? He worked with Sandusky, for how long? Shoulder to shoulder, on the field, off, how close do you get, sweat and smoke, drinks over a bar, working strategy over chalk boards into the night: and YOU DON'T KNOW?? (As a former football player, I speak with some limited authority.)
What? A decade? More?
Joe, please shut up.
Remember the Littleton High School teen age killers? Those two deranged boys who went through the HS and shot a bunch of young, innocent kids, then killed themselves, are, by my lights, nuts. The media tried to interview their parents, who immediately lawyered-up, and to my knowledge, have never, ever surfaced in the public.
Thanks to their attorneys - smart ones, I not sure if their photographs have ever appeared in public, let alone interviews, thanks to their seeking strong and protective counsel.
The attorneys said, SHUT UP and they took their advice.
As to whether Paterno, and any other official, large and small were negligent, criminal or otherwise will be decided downstream in the criminal justice system. I draw no conclusions here, except to say, for Sandusky and Paterno, unless they want to prove to the public that they loved being tackling dummies and the head injuries that go along with the position they should learn the phrase, " TALK TO MY ATTORNEY."
