Hurricane "Distraction"
Thank God for Hurricane Distraction. As predicted, the mediae over emphasized the destruction, damage, effects, and scared the hell out of everbody in the process.
Reports now coming in indicate said emphasis was way overblown. Damage estimates were way under "Hurricane Myrtle" way back in the day. Gee, whowoulda thought.
Ninety Nine percent of the stations bored us to death with over production on news casts, I'll wager most of the folks who tried to get out didn't got caught in the traffic while the storm hit, left, flooded somewhat, and the residents just turned around headed back home.
Nuff said.
The point of all this is - it was good news IN THAT it kept the political baloney OFF the screens for at least a week. All the major channels, broadcast networks, busy doing their proscribed political thing:
MSNBC - Whatever George Soros wants
Fox - Fair and Balanced
CNN - Non Judgemental ...(...yeah)
CNBC - Trying to catch up
Oh, and the late lamented Grupenfehuerer Keith Obermeister is lost on the dial somewhere down around the newly invented OWN and the gay channel.
The politics will begin again soon, destined to hammer us silly for another twelve months until it is all over.
When will the electorate vote out the silliness, restraining the elected to run only six months (or so) just before the November elections, and othrwise, shut the hell up?
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
