Nothing works in America in the 21st Century

Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm late in catching on, but my lights went on recently: American corporations (at least in Cell phone companies) don't give a crap about their companies.
The Point:- I have been sucked in (hard to do to a former sales and marketing guy with 40 years experience) by Verizon, Century Link and Cox and their " come-ons, bait n switch, loss leader and at times, LIES." Their only obective seems to be marketing, selling, up-selling (hiking YOUR costs), and locking you out of any feedback. Just try and give them any feedback and you will find it nearly impossible to get around the gate keepersl.
i've spent lots of time lots of money with all three. Note here, the equipment is ok, trucks could run over it and most are still serviceable. Problem is, once you're IN, the contract locks you in for two years or more.
You never hear from them again for a check up, " Hi, I'm from your Company. How are we doing?" Fughettaboutit. Not going to happen.
The contract is what they want. They cut you off from contact to the "Head Shed," your only conversation will be with underpaid, overworked HS drop out kids on phones in Ashtabula Ohio, who, every once in a while have to be educated on how to handle your very own call. I.E. " I don't know how I can help you, Sir."
Me: " well, you have a computer, don't you?"
        Her: " Well....yes."
Me:  " Why don't you turn it on, and look up the location of my request?"
Her: " Oh, sure. I can do that. Hold on, I'll be right back."
This is a fortune 500 Company, the year 2013, in America. And, we wonder out loud why our economy lags so badly, or why this company hires such people.

  1. I should have said, " nothing works right-the first time, or the second, or maybe even, the third. " I just left the Cox offices an hour ago after droping off the third wireless router in three months: it doesn't work at all. Not even a little bit. I'm getting to know the customer service people very well,I've been there so often. They will join me tomorrow at
1 pm. Third time's a charm the greeter said.
I have a five dollar bet with him that this will eventually fix the problem. (I'm almost hoping
    I win and Chauncey loses)
