Documentary Channel's New Effort - 2 Hour "Our Time"
Aired tonight, on the "Doc" channel, this two hour effort by two wandering post-teenagers toured the country w/camera, searching for the "soul" of modern day young people fearlessly digging up the direction of America.
They didn't find it.
What followed was a thinly shrouded "Obama re-election promo" down to a heavy saturated segment from the People's Republic of Portland, Oregon.
Ah, Portland, the ancestral home of John Reed, the father of American Communism, buried in the Kremlin Wall. (See "Reds," the movie for true, accurate details). The portion of the DOC special was most likely filmed during the weekly 5 pm riots held at Pioneer Square, center city, where the Socialists gather (several hundred at a shot) and obstruct traffic, raise hell, and shout obscenities) as witnessed in the bio-pic.
Portland, for the politically centrist, should be avoided at all costs.
I left after tiring of police with shotguns at every downtown intersections, screaming at my TV for years, and the Governor of Multnomah County bowing to leftist government.
The film is discouraging in that it paints a dreary future for our country in that the young appear to have little or no ideas, far less ambition and no creativity. Gone are the brave gunners of the B-17s, the positive bright lights that fought the WWII, and are replaced video game nerds, recluse, dark room hermits and anti-social chemical users who turn inward and develop relationships with computers far easier than with their fellow man.
