JOBS FOR RETIREES - HAUNT SCHOOL BOARDS

Once you drop out of the mainstream, stare out at the horizon and spend time gazing over your past career, certain things crystalize in your past:
    a.  Mistakes.....oh, let me count the ways. I considered writing a book about them, then got depressed about it cause their were so many.
    b.  Things I wanted to do better, but had no time. Amazing the areas I zoomed over cause I had no time, raising two children, job security in a shiftless, shifting economy where the rocking boat deck became the norm.
    c.  Marital problems, counselors, children running wild, private schools "womaned" by burned out
"anti-war" Viet Nam era hippies.
    d.  Watching my kids kick the crap out of whatever values I brought to the dinner table, thanks to the "teachers" at school.
    e.   Living in the trendy 60's, 70's and 80's where fatherhood as an institution was reduced to sperm donor, wallet, and last in line.
Now, in the twilight years, what value can retirees contribute?
Look around you. What is falling apart, and dear neighbor, DO NOT GO SILENTL INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT.
Our schools are a shambles. Our kids, by and large are graduating stupid. ( I said it and I'm glad, go ahead and bitch at me). Our teachers are more political than educational. READ the newspapers,
watch the tainted, slandered newscasts.
We don't teach History any more. We don't even teach hand-writing anymore. The kids print now - Can you believe that?  Printing is OK. (Mother of God!!)  They are teaching to the lowest rung of kids. Retired people, get out of your Barcoloungers, head for the nearest School Board and START BITCHING about the school curriculae.
Ask if they teach HISTORY. They don't. Demand to see the Curriculum. Ask to sit in on some of the classes to monitor what's going on. They'll fight you, but you have a right, God knows, - YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT
Our local university here in Tucson announced that the first year college students are not yet ready for college, so their first year's course of study on campus is a review of the senior year in High School. Fathom that!!
