GUN VIOLENCE - FACTS

1. 2 % of state inmates and 3% of federal inmates  were armed with automatic military style weapons when re-captured.
2. Less than 1% of state prisoners caught with a gun bought  from a gun show.
3. Fire-arm homicide deaths DECLINED from 1993 to 2011 down  39%.
   
4. Non-fatal fire-arm related crimes during the same period DECLINED  69%.
5. From 1994 to 2011 the rate of nonfatal fire-arm violence for MALES declined 81%.
6. Gun related murders, nationally, for black Americans, PLUMMETED by 51%.
7. The murder rate in schools DROPPED. over the same period of time by one third.
