RACISM on the Internet
Oprah and her comments about Racism prompts this. In my opine, I think she is PARTLY right and here's why: - I get some racial e'mails about the first family, and I want that crap to stop NOW. When I get them, I delete or send them back with a nasty note. I knew someone once who said I don't know how to cure the country's problems - but HATE isn' t going to do it. (tks Otis I never forgot)
I am totally against racial attacks against the president, his wife and family. They should stop immediately and be condemned by everyone. This is the 21st Century, not the Civil War. That, we are reminded these current days was 150 long/short years ago. As John Wayne once quipped, it started in 1861, and will end...soon, I hope.
If we are to defeat the current trend towards what I believe in my heart rampant Socialism, it must be on the basis of IDEAS. Concepts that are easily grasped by everyone, taken to work (while there still is any) talked up over the water-cooler to internet, stuffed into our lunch pails and chatted up over lunch breaks.
Ideals, not ideologies. Simple, rational plans and touch-stones that connect us back to our routes: we came here to worship and work. To create things, earn and keep our own money and for God's sake respect others and look for respect ourselves.
We are losing that every day.
Wake up, People. The Signors buried in Christ Church graveyard in Philadelphia, just up the street from the Liberty Bell, must be turning over in their graves.
