TUSD...lunch time for kids - Mystery Meat Specials

Politicians in Phoenix eat well, I am told. At least the ones I meat (pun is intended, Democrat AND Republican) some short time after they are elected, and start cutting our budgets.
It always seems when the axe falls on "critical" items, state owned cars (they drive) state owned benies (they use) somehow get over-looked.
I digress. Childrens' food in elementary school needs to be re-examined. We need to cut the fat out of state budgets, but not out of the food for our kids. I tutor at one of the schools. Today's lunch, which I tried to eat was a cheeseburger. One large round shoe leather burger, killed sometime in March, served up with a small microscopic wafer of orange (cheese, I guess).
No amount of chewing could force me beyond two bites. It hit the recycle can to the consternation of the teacher's lounge Econazi. (Still there as far as I know.) That should piss off the Star's battalion of reporters.
Anywho, so much for the rifle squad of Legislators "ready-fire-aim" efforts in Phoenix. I remember Dennis DeConcini's comments about our freedoms were safe 'cause the Legislature was out on break. Then again, thats when he was in the US Senate and living here. Back then, of course, now he's out and living in California. Oh well.
