The Mexican/American Border along Arizona

The Tucson Weekly is one of two newspapers here in southern Arizona with which I regularly disagree. Almost always, it hits the trashcan, once I glance through it's pages from editorials up front to personal ads in the back.
    Most recently columnist Leo Banks, a driftwood reporter of important note here in southern Arizona interviewed Santa Cruz County sheriff on the killing zone of Peck Canyon, just south of us, north of Nogales, just inside of the American line.
    Thirty or more bodies are found in that canyon every year, so says the sheriff, it is new for us, he is quoted as saying. His deputies have captured gunman armed with the best weapons (some with grenades) well inside our borders sent to ambush and kill illegal immigrants, other drug runners, killing off the competition it is suggested - INSIDE OUR COUNTRY.
    The article is so blood curdling that I draw these conclusions:

• Open gun laws in Arizona, especially in southern Arizona, are not only sane, they are now REQUIRED for the safety of our citizenry, for me.
•  Despite whatever babble coming out of Washington, it is NOW time to close off the border to Mexico by whatever means possible.
•  Border Patrol Agents must given the right to "shoot to kill" if endangered.
•  Judges who dismiss charges against repeat offenders, criminals, (illegal aliens) and release them, should be arrested and prosecuted.
• Border Security should be one of the main topics of the presidential election for 2012.
